​Acid Primer Specifications

​Main Ingredient: Contains a high percentage of methacrylic acid.

​Mechanism of Action: It works by micro-etching the natural nail plate, opening the keratin layers. This creates a microscopically rough surface, allowing the acrylic or gel to fuse tightly with the nail.

​Curing/Drying: It air-dries completely (no UV/LED lamp required). Once fully dry, it leaves a chalky, chalk-white matte finish on the nail.

​Texture & Scent: It has a very watery consistency and a sharp, strong, distinctive odor.

​When and Who is it Used For?

​Acid primer is the "heavy artillery" of nail adhesion. It shouldn't be used blindly on every client, but it is specifically recommended for:

​Very Oily Nails: If a client has natural nails with high oil production, an acid primer is essential to prevent lifting.

​Severe Lifting Issues: Ideal for clients who experience product lifting or popping off within just a few days of application.

​Hyperhidrosis (Sweaty Hands): Excessive moisture interferes with product adhesion, and this primer helps deeply dehydrate the nail plate.

​Acrylic Systems: Traditionally, acid primers work exceptionally well with acrylic powder and monomer systems.

​⚠️ Special Precautions

​Because it is an acid-based product, it requires maximum care:

​Do Not Touch the Skin: Acid primer must be applied exclusively to the natural nail plate. If it touches the cuticles or surrounding skin, it can cause chemical burns, redness, or severe irritation.

​Minimal Product: After removing the brush from the bottle, wipe it thoroughly on a lint-free wipe or paper towel before touching the nail. Apply just a tiny dot to the center of the nail, and it will self-distribute.

​Damaged Nails: Never use it on over-filed, thin, cracked, or damaged nails, as it will cause a severe, painful burning sensation.

​If a client has normal or sensitive nails, it is best to use an Acid-Free Primer (Bonder) instead, which acts like double-sided tape and is much gentler on the nail.
